Vietnam is hands down one of the best countries to visit as a solo female traveller. Rich in culture and beauty, and full of delicious food, it's the perfect solo destination with heaps to offer to keep you entertained.


Whether you want to take it slow and soak everything in or hit the ground running with some action packed activities, you can fit a tremendous amount into two weeks, seeing all the main sights along the way. Here's a tried and tested 2 week plan:

Day 1-3: Ho Chi Minh City

Arrive in this vibrant city and get settled.

Take a day trip to the Cu Chi tunnels and explore the Mekong Delta.

Day 4-5: Nha Trang

Reach this coastal city by bus or plane. It's great for beaches, diving and amazing street food tours.

Day 6-8: Hội An

Hop on an overnight bus from Nha Trang and arrive early morning in this beautiful town.

Soak up the atmosphere as you wander the streets; check out the UNESCO world heritage sites,get happily fat on the local cuisine and get creative - Hội An is known for it's tailoring services so if you've ever fancied designing your own clothes, now is the time to get them made!

Day 9: Hue or Đồng Hới

From Hội An, take a day trip to Hue (by bus or motorbike) to see the 19th-century Đại Nội Citade or head up to Dong Hoi.

Day 10: Đồng Hới

Book a tour to see the famous Phong Nha Cave, followed by the Dark Cave - zipline in and get messy in a natural mud bath.

Day 11: Fly to Hanoi

Catch an early morning flight to Hanoi and get ready for your Ha Long Bay tour the next day. You'll need to book a day in advance so bear this in mind when planning your time.

Day 12-14: Ha Long Bay tour / Sa Pa and back to Hanoi

2 night tours to Ha Long Bay are a great way to see these limestone islands. There are loads of options from party boats to smaller group boats. If you're not a fan of boats, use this time to take a trip to the rice paddies of Sa Pa instead!

Day 15: Explore Hanoi

Spend a day wandering around this vastly cultural city and be sure to eat a 'hot pot' - they're delicious!

Day 16: Ho Chi Minh and depart

Head south on a late night/early morning flight. Spend your last day in the markets before catching your flight home.
